What goes through a meteorite’s mind, as it falls to earth? Is it joy? Fear? A little of both?
Only the mind of Sascha Geddert can tell you.

Okay, so the whole conceit of shelves that float on your wall and look like clouds really only works if you’ve got blue walls — but it’s so CUTE!
They’re 950 Krona at Design Torget, out of Stockholm. That’s about $135, but I have no idea if that’s per shelf, or if you get a set of three, or something.

These adorable posters almost make me wish I had kids of the appropriate age, just so I’d have a place to put them.
Every time I look at them, they just make me go “Awwwwwwwwww.”
They’re $25 apiece, or buy the whole set for $80 …. but they’re a limited edition, so hurry if you want one.

Well, actually, a true ninja cat would be jet black and noiseless, but this is a pretty good — and cute! — approximation.
Well, I guess I’m in favour of using tiny, cute kittens in hats to sell me things.
The video is one of a sort-of series. Definitely watch this one. And then watch this one.
It’s all for Lake Street Creamery, an LA-based ice cream truck that specializes in gourmet, home-made style desserts like sorbets and gelati. And ice cream. And man, they sound yummy.
I also like their manifesto, which you should read.
Of course, this miniature AT-AT is cute now, but when they grow up, they just lay waste to Rebel bases on Hoth.

Awwww, could there be anything cuter for a Saturday morning?
(thanks, Ryan!)
His family lived in Canada, hers lived in Florida. But they both happened to go to Walt Disney World on the same day, when they were both kids.
Coincidence enough? Sure. But they never would have known, if they hadn’t been leafing through childhood pictures of each other. That’s when husband Alex noticed, in the background of a picture of his future wife and her brothers, a familiar-looking man. It was his dad, pushing Alex himself in a stroller.
Family pictures from Alex’s side prove it, showing his dad wearing the same outfit on the same day.
As the news anchor in this video report (where you can see the pic) sings: “It’s a small world, after all.”

Ah, if only bears could talk. I love how the baby bear runs away once she gets him down, like he knows he’s in for it.

Mother’s Day has a long, varied history but it’s modern incarnation seems sometimes to be invented by the greeting card companies.
Nevertheless, the sentiment it honours — familial and especially maternal love — is true. And, as this photo gallery on National Geographic shows, it’s not just in the human species that offspring and mothers share a special bond.
Here’s a wolf with her cubs, for example:
Awwwww. See the whole gallery here, where you can download all the shots as desktop backgrounds.
I don’t know why, but when cats are entertained by something on a computer, or in this case an iPad, it is just so funny.

I saw this at the Daily What, but they found it at Reddit, where the initial comment thread is genius.
This is so cute — a deer, adopted as a fawn by a family who found it malnourished, but managed to bottle-feed it back to health, has developed a friendly, playful attitude with the family’s dog.
According to the YouTube description:
He is free to wander if he likes and we’ve seen him with several herds of whitetail and axis deer. Apparently he fits in just fine with them. He frequently comes back to the house to eat some catfood and play with our dog, Buddy. He doesn’t care much for deer corn.
All together, now: “Awwwwww.”
After laughing at Amy’s Tiger Woods post, I poked around a bit on the blog where it’s from (plenty of good stuff, go there!) But the one that caught my eye the most was this video, of a boy who is simultaneously entranced and frightened by the creepy-crawly lobsters that his dad has brought home for supper. So cute:
Full disclosure: Although my whole family loves lobsters, I kind of think they’re like eating gigantic bugs. And they’re extraordinarily messy. And I just don’t “get” them. They’re tasty enough, but not so delicious that they’re entirely worth the trouble, in my opinion.
From tdw, which notes: “I am overcome by a strong bittersweet sensation as it dawns on me that I will never again enjoy anything as much as this baby enjoys ripping paper.”
