Assisted suicide ad made me think

Thankfully, I’ve never been in a situation where I faced the choice of assisted suicide, but I believe I come down on the side of “why shouldn’t it be allowed?” It seems to me that, with so much emphasis on allowing people free choice in all kinds of other areas, allowing people to end their life as they choose — and when they choose — should be a no-brainer.

Of course, I don’t want people offing themselves willy-nilly. But with appropriate end-of-life counselling* it should be a natural option when dealing with some diseases.

That’s why I support this ad campaign, by DignityinDeath.com, which definitely gets people thinking about the issues.
