This is a couple of years old, but I just saw it the other day. I still have deep rage in my heart to the original, which took up a HALF of my hometown’s movie theatre screens for about six months. That only left one screen for every other movie that was released that year.

Actually, come to think of it, I hope they make this sequel just to punish the people who loved the original so much that they kept going and going and going and going.

Hear hear! Those were indeed dark days. Pre-multiplex.

Do you remember when the Raiders of the Lost Ark played the Strand for about 9 or 10 weeks or maybe more? I think I went 5 or 6 times…okay I had a huge crush on Harrison Ford…and you would have been 5 so I guess you won’t remember…

No…it was when “For the Moment” played for 3 months at the Strand. That alone accounts for my dislike of Russell Crowe.

I remember photographing someone changing the marquee sign at the Strand, to say “Now in its 16th week” … halfway through its run!

Sadly, that explains the current condition of The Strand.

A LOT of things explain the current situation there…inertia chief among them.

Hey, I remember (being so old) that Raiders of the Lost Ark actually played (get ready) for over 1 YEAR in Winnipeg.

And I like Russell Crowe. MASTER AND COMMANDER bought him a lifetime pass for my heart.

I also loved Master and Commander. Did you ever hear whether or not they were going to go ahead with the sequels? I think there’s about a hundred books.

Also, Amy and I watched State of Play last night, and (except for the ridiculous third-act twist and the fact that you could have swapped “cops” with “reporters” and had a police procedural instead of a newspaper movie) I thought Mr. Crowe was pretty great.
