Local commercials, for the win

I laughed so hard when I watched this over-sincere, almost anti-ironic commercial for a mobile home liquidator.

It’s the product of Rhett and Link, two guys behind ILoveLocalCommercials.com, who travel across the country filming ad-hoc, hilarious commercials for local business. I believe they are sponsored in some way.

However they go about it, they are hilarious, and I encourage you to also watch the commercial about the Cuban gynecologist who became an American car salesman. Or, if you perhaps need a haircut, consider a $2 ‘do from these fine girls.

Best of all, though, they are looking for more local businesses to support. I nominated Pennywise Books, here in Brandon (thank me later, Keith). Although their FAQ says it’s perfectly okay to nominate foreign business, they also say they won’t travel internationally. I think Keith should go to them.

Nominate a business here.

What good is a local commercial without a local television station to air it on? That said, I’d totally post such an ad on a fine blog like Absurd Intellectual.

You’ll get thousands of views online! Plus, I’m sure you could put it on Access 12.
