If you follow the instructions, I’m sure that this would make wonderful coffee. But I’m far too bleary-eyed in the mornings to do much more than grunt as I hit the button that gives me go-juice from the auto-drip.

That said, I do own a number of ‘fancier’ coffee brewers — stovetop espresso makers, pyrex percolators, etc — and I’m intrigued by this Chemex maker. But why name a coffeemaker to sound like a pharmaceutical company?

    It’s basically steeping it like you would tea. Big whoop. Pure marketing, that one is.
