Every so often, I like to peruse the “deals” sites online. I hardly ever buy anything over the internet, but I do like to look, because a part of me still believes that on the internet, everything is free.
There isn’t very much free out there (music, movies and TV shows notwithstanding) but there are loads of companies marketing their product online, and many of them do it with coupons or online-only discounts.
Yesterday, I ran across the weirdest of them that I had ever seen, though.
Buy Becel, Get 2 Simulcast Diana Krall, Chantel Kreviazuk Concert Tickets
On April 23rd, 2009, Becel’s Love your Heart Benefit Concert will bring together some top North American recording artists in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Artists that will be performing include Diana Krall and Chantel Kreviazuk and you can see it simulcast at your local Cineplex and Empire Theatres when you buy a pack of Becel margarine. Just look for specially marked packages of Becel, enter the PIN online, and you’ll receive 2 tickets for each PIN.
Better still, Becel will donate $1 to the Heart and Stroke Foundation for every PIN activated so you can have some great entertainment at a great price, and help a good cause at the same time!
That’s right — buy butter, get a concert ticket. But not just any concert ticket — a simulcast concert, which means you have to go to a movie theatre and watch it on the big screen. So it’s like something in between a real concert and a concert DVD that you watch at home.
I’m still not sure where the butter connection comes in.
