It is cold outside today. Drink-coffee-all-day-and-read-a-book, cold.-33 cold.
Brr.
Therefore, I wanted to post a song that captured the harsh feel of winter.
Seattle darlings Fleet Foxes seemed a good choice. The blogs have been all a-flutter with praise for their self-titled album, released in 2008 (that feels strange to say so early into 2009) on Sub Pop, and with good reason. The harmony-driven indie pop makes for beautiful listening.
This is my song of choice for such a cold day. It’s lovely harmonies and upbeat sound belie the danger in the lyrics. Kind of like looking outside on a cold day, revelling in the beautiful landscape which looks harmless until you step outside and your breath is taken away by the nasty chill.
